Cheryl Georgette Arent is a multi-disciplinary artist, well-founded in analog photography. Born and raised in Racine, WI, she spent 15 years in NYC working as a freelance photographer, photographing musicians and personalities such as: Mac DeMarco, Julian Casablancas, Akwafina, Eartheater, JD Samson, Kills Birds, Melanie Gaydos, John Cooper Clarke and Bunny Michael.

Cheryl’s expertise extends beyond photography. She worked closely with renowned artist Vera Lutter, playing a pivotal role in Lutter’s artistic endeavors. Notably, during a three-year artist residency at LACMA, Cheryl helped construct several large-format camera obscuras and an extensive darkroom built within the museum.

Since relocating from the streets of Brooklyn to the expansive landscapes of Los Angeles, Cheryl has been drawn away from the city’s bustle and toward the serenity of nature. Immersed in the wilderness, she finds solace and inspiration among the starlit skies, rugged rock formations, flowing rivers, and the intricate patterns of tree bark. Cheryl now shares not only her photography but also her visionary artworks, as she explores the world’s beauty through caves, hillsides, and waters, contemplating life, death, and the spaces in between.

Her photography has been featured in an array of publications, including Interview Magazine, Alt Citizen, VICE, NME, BULLETT, Nylon, Dazed and Confused, NOISEY, Fact Mag, Impose, Rolling Stones Mexico, Equate Magazine, Thrill Jockey, The Quietus, Tiny Mix Tapes and Village Voice.
